This is an online diary of my personal journey from one belief system to another. Although it is not a drastic shift, it is one that I hope will be able to help others live up to their full potential in life. Too many times we allow ourselves to be hemmed into the lives that others wish us to live rather than the life we should be living.
In my case I was being suffocated by a religion that doesn't favor individual thought or movement. Everything that made me unique was basically suppressed in the fear/hope that the end of the world was right around the corner and if I exercised any of my God-given gifts I might be lost along with the rest of Satan's wicked world. So, anything that I wanted to do (which was of course frowned upon) was done in secret. We aren't designed to live in secret and those petty secrets were killing me.
If you take anything away from this story please let it be that we are all important persons charged with the obligation to bring our personal gifts to the world. This gift may be as simple as the ability to spin a good story or compose poetry. Contrary to modern thought, you don't have to be on television or the movies to have a lasting impact on our fellow human beings. We just have to be present and willingness to share with others.
